Pattern Making

Dress made fully of of recycled plastic bags and plastic bindings used in shipping. It has a side zipper closure. I messed around with melting the bags together to increase the integrity of the plastic but decided against it for visual purposes on the bodice part. The base of the skirt is made out of larger bags that I melted together and then reinforced with clear plastic thread.

Deconstructed Skirt I made out of scrap fabric with built in shorts underneath. The design of having it ride higher on the hips and lower in the middle, and back  it to accentuate the hips.

It includes a peek-a-boo thong sticking out. This was inspired by the CharliXCX song "Guess" and her overall style.

I'm currently working on an orchid collar shirt that utilizes boning and wire to support the petals. This project will combine makeup and costumes to create a living orchid.
Utilizing mini figures, I was able to play with different pattern styles and costume pieces.

Recently, I have gotten focused on learning how to work with different stretch factors and the challenges of drafting stretchwear. While I was taking a stretcher course, I had the opportunity to lighting design and costume design a dance piece. Doing the projects in tandem allowed me to fully explore the challenges of stretch.
